Background: Eristol was orphaned at a young age by an Imperial attack that was meant to wipe out a Rebel cell. The Rebels survived what the civilians didn’t and found the young man. One of the Rebels was a family friend who brought him into their fold, teaching him the basics of what they were about and what his parents died for. By the time he was a young teenager, he believed fully in what the Rebellion was fighting for and wanted to do his part. There was an Imperial Academy on his homeworld, and having learned a little bit of tradecraft, he offered to join up in order to learn and feed the Rebels information on the Imperial battle tactics. Several officers attempted to warn him off of the mission, believing it to be too risky, but he could not be deterred. They gave him what assets they could, and sent him off with their blessing.

Design Notes: This concept came from two pieces of art. I just got my copy of Cyphers and Masks and noticed that the art for the Sleeper Agent looks very similar to that of the Imperial Academy Cadet from Dawn of Rebellion and this idea just about jumped out and slapped me in the face. We’ve seen child characters numerous times in Star Wars, from Ahsoka Tano, to a child Anakin Skywalker, to Ezra Bridger, to Temmin Wexley. The concept of a young Rebel agent recruited into the Imperial Academy to work against the Empire from the inside was too fun not to explore, especially as it could be completely realized at character creation. The Sleeper Agent focuses heavily on Cunning and secondly on Intellect to support some Knowledge and Computer skill checks. There is some interesting synergy with the Imperial Academy Cadet tree with two picks of Knowledge specialization and Known Schematic fairly early on in the tree. Targeted Firepower also plays off of Knowledge (Warfare) which is important to the Sleeper Agent’s Analyze Data talent. An early pick of Know Thy Enemy allows you to further put that Knowledge (Warfare) skill to use by using it for initiative. However, a lot of the other talents and skills take you down a slightly different path, but aren’t necessarily bad picks, such as By the Book and Tactical Combat Training. There really isn’t anything in the Sleeper Agent tree that doesn’t look enticing for this character.
